Cupcakes in Love - Patrick and Liz Engagement Session

So I have a pretty strict no weddings policy. Just not my thing. I love weddings..everything about them.
I just can't handle the pressure of missing any "once in a lifetime" moments. I would never forgive myself.
Sadly this policy also restricts me from engagement sessions (which are fun and basically a maternity session sans the bump) because generally you would like to use the same photographer for both
or it is included in your package.
Well a wonderful thing happened, Patrick and Liz (Patrick is Ryann's uncle - you can see her latest session here.) hired amazing wedding photographers, who just so happened to shoot Ryann's parent's wedding. They are amazing but not local so Patrick and Liz decided to hire me for some engagement shots.
We had a blast! The weather was AMAZING! And the park they picked in D.C. was incredible. It's called Meridian Hill Park. Such a cool place! People were doing crazy stack on top of each other yoga, playing drums and guitars, reading and relaxing. Plus it offered tons of amazing backdrops.
Picking my favorites was next to impossible.
Here are just a few...

fun with shadows

he looks at her so incredibly sweetly.

delicious end of the day sun :)

private acoustic guitar serenade in the park... ahhh romance

Thank you Patrick and Liz for such a special treat.
Wishing you the happiest of forevers!

LOVE IS SWEET!

Cupcake In The Oven - Josh and Lauryn Maternity

Busy Busy Bee. But blessed to be stressed. :)
Lots of fun stuff that needs to be posted shared edited mailed whew.

Back in my former life (when I was actually utilizing my Sports Management Degree) I worked for the Baltimore Ravens with one of the sweetest girls I have ever met and we kept in touch. She worked in video editing and eventually was offered an amazing position in LA with the Dodgers and Justin and I got to visit :)
After that her hubby got offered a job with MLB
and she took a position with the NY Jets and they headed back East.

It just so happened that right when she needed maternity pictures I was taking my momma to see Wicked in NYC for her birthday. So we squeezed in a quick session in beautiful Hoboken!

This is me and my brush with fame on Monday Night Football. Chris McAlister (21) just ran 108 yards for a touchdown after a failed field goal attempt by Denver. See the video here. Really impressive. Also if you look when they scan back to him (and me) I am most definitely rocking some fully extended spirit fingers. Rah!
I love NYC. It's magical but you can really appreciate it even better from across the Hudson.
Hoboken is also the MOST ACTIVE city in the world so it was a mere miracle that we were able to get this sweet image without a spandexed rear in the background. ;)
FAV OF THE DAY!

All that I had to work with was that the little one was a girl and her expected due date. Josh and Lauryn's beliefs keep things super secret and it was killing me. But we worked with what they would divulge ;)
P.S. She arrived a bit ahead of her due date.

lauryn OWNS this picture and that belly :)

another favorite.

Congrats Lauryn and Josh on your new little one!
I can not wait to meet her :)
oxoxoxoxoxoxo

Fresh Out Of The Oven - Emma

Love that through my new found career as a photographer I have gotten the chance to see friends that I haven't seen in forever. Emma's mom is one of those friends.
We were sorority sisters at York College :)
and it's been way too long since I've seen her.

Meet Emma. Emma likes to be awake for pictures.
It's pretty serious business and she doesn't want to miss anything.

Happy girl. Pretty sure this was a blink ;)
Don't let this yawn fool you..she's not sleepy

Love this ...
Emma's an Eastern Shore girl. Fishin' is in her blood.
